I have an announcement.....

If you follow my baking I'm sure you have already guessed, but I am officially putting my cakes on hold. It was a tough decision but with the new addition to my family, my five year old and my full time job there is just no time. I look forward to starting again and when the time is right I will definatley let everyone know.

Here's what I've been up to

Those of you that view my website may have wondered what happened to my baking....well my son happened. My pregnancy was rough and because of that I made very few cakes during that time. Now I am dealing with a newborn and five year old, so I'm just trying to get back into a routine. I do hope to begin making cakes again, I'm just not sure when.

In the meantime I thought I would post some pics of the few cakes I've done over the last year. I knew making cakes was time consuming, but with a newborn it makes you REALLY understand how much time I was spending on my cakes.

Hopefully I will be back in the kitchen within the next few months!

Slice of Cake Anyone

I finally had a chance to try this design and I love it. Everything is made out of fondant including the candles (don't mind the one falling over....I guess I had one too many glasses of wine when I stuck it in!) When my daughter saw it her first words were "Hey someone took a piece of cake mommy!"

One banana, two banana, three banana, four.....

Actually there are six bananas used in my newest recipe, Banana cake. This is a delicious cake recipe that is similar to the taste of homemade banana bread with the consistency of cake. It is rich, thick and very moist. There are many variations that can be done with this cake for example adding chocolate chips, walnuts, cream cheese frosting, banana cream filling and chocolate pudding. This cake is sure to be a favorite and will win the hearts of anyone.
